Do-dee-do-do-do-do-do-do-do! Subscribe!

A quick update!

I have added an RSS feed button and a subscription option to the left.

What this means is that you can use the RSS feed to stay updated if you know what that is.

For those less tech-savy, you can have emails sent to you whenever I update this blog by selecting the "Subscribe via Email" option.

I will continue linking on facebook for a few more weeks, but I wish to have everyone that reads this to start using the new options I added. If you forget the address to this site for some reason, it's in my profile on FB.

Bless your face, Peace off!

Ow

As a new week dawns, so do other things... or something deep like that.

As far as those tests were concerned, I aced OT and barely passed Econ.
Now i have three left; one wednesday, one friday, one next monday.  Yay.

Fun stuff; I've joined an MMA (mixed martial arts) group here on campus. My first night, and the guy leading the thing didn't show, so one of my friends just put me through some basics. Also, I'm going sparing with my friends now. Yesterday was my first day, and I received a lesson in humility. Now parts of me are sore, and I have a lovely bruise on my leg that is still red. Something that seems more fun than that to you guys, my roommate order a gaming keyboard at half-price on Amazon. When he goes to get rid of the box after extracting his keyboard, the box is heavier than it should be. Lo and behold, Another gaming keyboard! The very same as the one he ordered. Now I have a gaming keyboard that I won't be able to use for a year or two. So yeah, awesome. That steampunk game I mentioned a few weeks back has taken off. So far things are going slowly, but once every one is used to the motions, things should pick up.

And now, a flowchart:

A short one

As you can probably tell, I haven't settled on a regular update day yet. What's probably going to happen from now on is I'm going to just do it on the weekend (Fri-Sun) at some point in time.

Anyways, on with the post. We had an awesome chapel speaker this week and I can't remember her name for some reason. She lived through a Saline Abortion, and the only problem she currently has is a limp from Cerebral Palsy. Well, that and a tendency to get off track during a message. She's still a very awesome woman. She got the whole chapel fired up.

Here's an awkward photo of me:

Not much else going on. About to go to church now. Pray for me as I have two tests tomorrow.

Peace out all!

TOY STORY THREE!!!

This is generally the part where my posts start getting really small due to lack of things going on. Why? Because there is only so much that sticks out in my mind after I have emptied it in the previous post. But enough about that. It Bloging time! *cue power rangers theme*

Not much to report with the classes right now. First paper has been talked about in Business Law. In fact, that's the only paper for that class. And it's not due until December. So I have plenty of time to work on it. No mom, I'm not procrastinating; I'm actually working on it. No other paper assignments have been gone over yet, so the jury is out on those at the moment.

My roommate was shown a rather awesome video, and here it is:

Hope you enjoyed that if you were able to watch it. Go check out the other Literal trailers this guy has done. They are awesome.

Now, the reason for the blog's title.

Last night was an Alt night, where there lotsa games and stuff and karaoke going on. I played Laser tag, and lost. Which is good because last time I played it was 'lil sibs weekend and I was up against a bunch of midgets. I mean younger siblings. >_>
So it wasn't much of a challenge last time.

Anyways, they were showing Toy Story 3. Having grown up with the first two, this one hit hard. If you have seen the first two, you must see this. if you haven't seen Toy Story 1 + 2, watch those first and then watch this. Otherwise you will miss the whole thing.

Anyways, That's all for today. Peace out.

P.S. Why do I like saying anyways?

First post of the new blog! (aside from the previous one)

Cutting to the chase:
I am taking Microeconomics, Old Testament Literature, Information Systems for Business, Business Law, and Principles of Accounting I. I have a rather fun teacher for Econ, he uses amusing analogies and sometimes says something slightly quasi-awkward. i.e. When saying how trees have "kinks" in them then analogizing by saying we too are kinky. He obviously meant that we are flawed, but it was amusing anyway. He is also very conversational when he prays, which is a nice change from all the reverent cookie-cutter prayers I hear (Yes, he messes up some words there too).
For OT, I have the most sought after teacher for this class. And now I know why after being in his class for 1 1/2 weeks. He has this all down pat, coupled with his ability to engage the class and bring out points about the old testament you would have never caught on to unless he told you. One example is the Creation account. While it is about how God created the world, it serves another purpose. God speaks, and it is so. Now imagine if you needed a pen and I said "pen", and poof, pen. Wouldn't that be so awesome you show me to your friends? Now imagine if I said there was going to be a party at 9. You come, and there's only me. I say "party", and poof! there are rides, clowns, ponies, music, etc. Now what does that tell you about my word? You can trust it. If I say something is going to happen, it will happen. Same thing with God. When God says something should be, or will happen, it is so. He did it with Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and others throughout the Old Testament. Which brings up my personal question, if you believe Jesus is the way, but not that God created the world the way he said he did, does your faith pass the Logic check? Sure we trust certain things certain people say and not other things, but that's because we have good reason to doubt those other things. Do we have any reason to doubt what says in one area but not another? Yes, believing in Jesus is all that is needed for salvation, but think about it for a while.
Info systems is so far a fairly decent class and may prove very useful as we go along. Biz Law is my new "politics" course so far, but my teacher is a heck of a lot more interesting that my previous politics professes. He talks fast (so if you're southern you won't get a word) and has what I'd think you'd call a dry sense of humor. Very entertaining, and the talking speed makes you pay attention so you don't miss anything. We'll see how this class turns out. And finally, accounting may be the only class I ask for clarification on certain things. That's a good thing by the way. But I worry how the semester is going to be. My teacher's husband got into a biking accident last week and is still in banged up shape. He broke all but 2 ribs on the right side, a collapsed lung, and I think some other trauma. His lung has inflated some since then, but I have yet to hear of any improvements. The husband also teaches here at the college.

And that is a basic synopsis of my academics. Other things to note, I gave blood on Tuesday! Soon I will get a card in the mail and find out what my blood type is. Also, Ken Ham was the chapel speaker for that day. So it was extra awesome! I'm also trying to get an RP group together with one of my new friends this semester. It's called Savage Worlds. If you know what D&D is, it's a simplified version of that where you can change the setting to whatever you want. The setting we'll be using is steampunk. Think industrial revolution era sci-fi.
Examples courtesy of Google Search:

I haven't gotten the story from my friend yet, but it based of another steampunk setting that a guy based a whole web comic around called Clockworks. It's pretty cool, and the comic will give you an idea of the setting. Note: we won't be following that particular story, it's a different one. So we'll see how that turns out.

Aside from all that, there isn't much else to speak of as of yet, other than I have 3 days of no school in a row due to labor day and the way my classes are scheduled. Wish me luck on my school stuff!

PS. Read Emily Dickinson's "Because I could not stop for death" poem to the Gilligan's Island theme.
